1400 Mission St. Step by Step

Step 1: Attend a total of 6 hours of Homebuyer Education workshop(s) at CCCSSF or one of the five (5) HUD approved housing counseling agencies in San Francisco. Find Workshop Schedule Here; make sure to take all workshops with the same counseling agency.

Note: Counseling agencies may offer 6, 4 or 2 hour classes, you must complete a total of 6 hours at the same counseling agency.

Step 2: Complete 2-hours of individual housing counseling with the same counseling agency.

Step 3: Obtain a Verification of Homebuyer Education from the same counseling agency.

Step 4: Get pre-approved by a lender who is approved by San Francisco's Mayor's Office of Housing and Community DevelopmentFind the MOHCD Approved Lender List here.

Step 5: Attend a 1400 Mission Application Clinic or individual application review session at the same counseling agency. Please read more about this step below.

Step 6: Submit your application through your housing counseling agency. Please read more about this step below.

Step 7: Win the Lottery! Please read more about this step below.

Step 8: Enter into a valid purchase contract.

Step 9: Submit the Verification of Homebuyer Education form to your counseling agency and obtain your Homebuyer Certificate before closing your purchase contract. Please read more about this step below.

 

Application Clinic Schedule (Step 5)

You must have completed your First Time Homebuyer education and obtained a loan Pre-Approval BEFORE attending an Application Clinic. You will need to submit a General BMR Ownership Application to MOHCD. Your counseling agency will help you understand and fill out the application.  Download the application form here, save to your own computer, fill out to the best of your ability and bring to one of the Application Clinics at the same counseling agency you have been working with. See the CCCSSF schedule below. Make sure to bring all of your supporting documents such as: pay stubs, bank statements and tax returns.

Submitting your Application (Step 6)

Application Deadline: Thursday, July 16, 2015, 5:00 pm.

Completed application must be received at same counseling agency you have been working with by 5:00 pm on the day of the application deadline. All applications for this project must be certified and submitted through a housing counseling agency or it may be ineligible for the lottery. Due to the high demand for this project, we recommend submitting your application as soon as possible in order to prevent any last minute delays. Applications received after the deadline will not be accepted.

 

Win the Lottery!!! (Step 7)

The lottery drawing is a public event that may or may not choose to attend. You do not have to be present to win. Date: Tuesday, July 28, 2015. Time: 2:00 pm. Location: SF LGBT Center, Ceremonial room. 1800 Market St. San Francisco, CA 94103. Lottery results will be published to www.1400missionsf.com by August 11, 2015. 

 

Obtain a Request for Homebuyer Certificate (Step 9)

After you have been selected in the lottery, click on the Request a Homebuyer Certificate link below, fill out and submit completed form to your counseling agency. This form must also be used to request a First Time Home Buyer Certificate when applying for other developments.
