Consumer Credit Counseling Service of San Francisco is pleased to announce that the San Francisco Business Times and MassMutual San Francisco have awarded the agency their Citizenship Award. According to the award's sponsors, it is "designed to honor the region's most active and inspiring partnerships between local businesses and nonprofits."

CCCS-SF was recognized for its partnership with its subsidiary company, BALANCE. The latter provides free financial counseling through community banks, credit unions and employee assistance programs.

Further criteria used in choosing the honorees included:

  • A philosophy of ‘doing well by doing good,’ by supporting nonprofits focused on families and children.
  • Ongoing involvement of the CEO/owner and senior leadership in the company's social initiatives.
  • Active promotion of philanthropy and volunteerism among employees.
  • Demonstrating a measurable social impact from the company's philanthropic efforts

The award was presented to CCCS-SF President Joanne Budde at the Fastest Growing Private Companies event on October 15, 2013. CCCS-SF is very grateful to the San Francisco Business Times and MassMutual San Francisco for this honor.
